Extreme Overclockable ITX Build – Watercooling – Ryzen & RTX Inside

Who says that small PC can’t be powerful? We have built small factor ITX PC with watercooling for CPU and there is also a space for water cooled graphic cards. For the GPU we have chosen RTX 2080 Super, so it can’t be more powerful, right?

Ryzen 7 3700x
Ryzen 7 3700x

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X is third generation Ryzen CPU with 8 cores and 16 threads. Third generation AMD Ryzen doesn’t only have more L2 and L3 cache, but also has GameCache which will help to boost in game performance. This CPU with boost clock of 4.4 GHz can keep up with Intel 9900K without any problems. It has PCIe 4.0 support too. With just 65W TDP it doesn’t need massive coolers so it is great to put in small systems and great for overclocking.

Gigabyte X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI

For this build, size does matter. GPU length must be less than 350mm so we have chosen Zotac GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8 GB GAMING AMP which is 298mm long and dual slot width. Zotac card comes with Amp Maxx cooler with dual 100mm fans and 5 copper heatpipes. On the back there is a full-cover metal backplate which cools card and gives horizontal support. This model comes slightly overclocked from factory from 1815MHz to 1845MHz. But if you are going to buy new PC in next few weeks, we suggest to wait for RTX 3000 series.

Gigabyte X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI
Gigabyte X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI

Gigabyte X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI  is best buy X570 ITX motherboard. Beside ITX small factor it provides dual m.2 SSD slots. For price of $220 it also includes Intel AX200 Wi-Fi 6 wireless interface, DDR4-4400 memory which is rare in this price range for ITX boards. With 8 phase power with brushed aluminum heatsing and X570 chispet it is more than good for overclocking and like other X570 from Gigabyte chipset is being cooled with small fan. Rear I/O is quite strange, it has only 5 USB 3.1 ports, audio ports, 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, ethernet port and micro USB connector. On the right rear there is small led strip for RGB lovers and board also has connector to add your led strip. It comes with Ryzen 4000 and PCIe 4.0 support.

Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro

For this premium build we suggest 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro running at 3200MHz. It comes with 4 8GB DIMMs with 16-18-18-36 latency. Each module has RGB light on top of it which can be controlled with Corsairs iCUE and any third party software. This memory comes with XMP 2.0 support so you will need motherboard with XMP support to run it on full speed. And if you want to overclock it, you can squeeze few hundred MHz more from it.

MasterLiquid ML120L RGB

MasterLiquid ML120L RGB is AiO (all in one) water cooling solution from Cooler Master. It comes with 120mm radiator and 120mm SickleFlow 120 led fans which have bigger blade  size to improve light dispersion and increase static pressure. Fans and pump comes with 4 pin RGB led connector so you can control their lights with your motherboard. For this CPU water cooling is overkill, but we put it to show that water cooling can fit into ITX build, it is just few $ more expensive than air cooler and there is a lot of room for upgrade to ‘K’ processor like i5 10600K.

For SSDs you can choose between ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro and Samsung 970 Evo Plus. They are pretty close in performance, but ADATA is few $ cheaper.

ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro

ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 500 GB is one of the best SSDs you can buy today. This drive futures speeds up to 3.5/3 GBps of read/write, and with  The black XPG heat spreader gives even better performance. It comes with 512 GB, 1TB or 2 TB capacity, and for this build we have chosen 500 GB model.

Samsung 970 Evo Plus

Samsung 970 Evo Plus is one of the best consumer SSDs you can buy today. For this build we have chosen 500GB model, which has 3200MB/s/900MB/s read/write speeds. Unlike the other SSDs which uses 64-layer memory technology, 970 EVO Plus is the first SSD based on new 96-layer memory technology. It has 5 years warrant.
If that isn’t enough for you, we added some Seagate BarraCuda Pro Compute 2 TB 3.5″ 7200RPM mechanical hard drive.

Corsair SF600

Corsair SF600 is the best SFX power supply you can buy. SF600 comes with Gold efficiency certificate and with great cooling design it is ultra quite under full loads thankfully to semi-passive fan mode. It comes with Japanese capacitors which are being known for their durability and quality. Because SFX power supplies are used in small builds, modularity is important thing for cable management and space organisation in small cases and this Corsairs power supply is fully modular with sleeved cables. And great thing is that it comes with ATX bracket so if you change your case you won’t need to change power supply.

Evolv Shift

Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV SHIFT is Mini ITX case which has premium look with anodized aluminum on the front and tempered glass side window. EVOLV SHIFT is quite different from other cases. It can stand verticaly or be laid horizontaly. I/O panel is relocated in this case like many other things. On the top there is a panel which pops by pressing it and revals RGB lighting box and dust filter. Under that panel is hidden I/0 shield and GPU rear slots. After removing all of the panels, EVOLV SHIFT is easy to build case. It supports dual 140mm fans on the front and you can put up to 140mm radiator on the bottom. For storage, it supports dual 2.5″ drives or one 3.5″ and one 2.5″ drive. CPU cooler must be less than 82mm in height and GPU must be up to 350mm long and only dual slot. This case supports only SFX power supplys which is normal when we look at its dimension.
