Mini ITX Gaming PC for $1400 – Intel and RTX Inside

Some people doesn’t like big cases, when PC takes to much space on the table, or they are just fans of power which small factor PCs can provide. This build is for them. New Intels 10th gen Core i5 10400 and RTX 2070 Super GPU in Lian Li TU-150WX ITX case. This is some medium range ITX build, but be prepared for next one which will be extreme build in small case than this one with water cooling. Yes, you hear it right, water cooling in just 7.2L case.

Intel Core i5 10400

i5 10400 is Intels 10th gen 6 core 12 threads processor with frequency up to 4.3GHz. 10th gen is based on Comet Lake microarchitecture that enables HyperThreading, increased L3 cache, and higher clock speeds across the entire 10th generation. It has locked multiplier, but we added Z490 motherboard because small price difference between Z490 and H470 on ITX form factor, and Z490 provides more futures and has place for future upgrades. With same cores and price as Ryzen 3600, it is its real rival. But in performance, it is between Ryzen 1600 AF (2600) and Ryzen 3600, so it is on you which one will you choose, AMD or Intel. If you want to keep some money, there is also ‘F’ version without integrated graphics.



MSI GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB GAMING X is best budget RTX 2070 Super card which is built for the best performance for the budget. It comes with latest iteration of their dual-fan TwiNFrozr 7 cooler which use TORX 3.0 fans. GPU chip is powered by custom 8+2 phase power delivery and it needs 8+6 pin power connector. The card runs a faster 1800 MHz boost clock with 14 Gbps effective memory clock. For this build it is important for card to be cool because it will be in smaller case but the most important thing is GPU length which must be smaller than 320mm. GAMING X comes with nice aluminum backplate which cools back of the card and gives support to card because of massive cooler and MSI added support bracket in case the card is sagging a little too much for your liking. And for AMD lowers you can choose RX 5700  XT by Gigabyte in Gaming OC Edition for $150 less.

ASRock Z490M-ITX

ASRock Z490M-ITX/ac is cheapest Z490 ITX motherboard on the market. It comes with dual slot DDR4 support up to 64GB and 4400MHz. Beside it is the cheapest ITX Z490 board, it has steel reinforced PCIe slot, USB 3.2 support, two M.2 slots for storage… M.2 slot comes with aluminum M.2 Armors which keeps SSD cooler to perform better. For CPU power delivery there is 8 phase VRM with aluminum heatsink which will provide some decent overclock on ‘K’ series of processors like i5 10600K. .



MasterLiquid ML120L RGB

MasterLiquid ML120L RGB is AiO (all in one) water cooling solution from Cooler Master. It comes with 120mm radiator and 120mm SickleFlow 120 led fans which have bigger blade  size to improve light dispersion and increase static pressure. Fans and pump comes with 4 pin RGB led connector so you can control their lights with your motherboard. For this CPU water cooling is overkill, but we put it to show that water cooling can fit into ITX build, it is just few $ more expensive than air cooler and there is a lot of room for upgrade to ‘K’ processor like i5 10600K.


For this build we have chosen 16 GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX memory on 3200MHz. This 16 GB kit is best bang for buck on the market. With good motherboard, its speed can be raised for few MHz.


For SSDs you can choose between ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro and Samsung 970 Evo Plus. They are pretty close in performance, but ADATA is few $ cheaper.


ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 500 GB is one of the best SSDs you can buy today. This drive futures speeds up to 3.5/3 GBps of read/write, and with  The black XPG heat spreader gives even better performance. It comes with 512 GB, 1TB or 2 TB capacity, and for this build we have chosen 500 GB model.

Samsung 970 Evo Plus

Samsung 970 Evo Plus is one of the best consumer SSDs you can buy today. For this build we have chosen 500GB model, which has 3200MB/s/900MB/s read/write speeds. Unlike the other SSDs which uses 64-layer memory technology, 970 EVO Plus is the first SSD based on new 96-layer memory technology. It has 5 years warrant.
If that isn’t enough for you, we added some Seagate BarraCuda Pro Compute 2 TB 3.5″ 7200RPM mechanical hard drive.

Corsair SF600

Corsair SF600 is the best SFX power supply you can buy. SF600 comes with Gold efficiency certificate and with great cooling design it is ultra quite under full loads thankfully to semi-passive fan mode. It comes with Japanese capacitors which are being known for their durability and quality. Because SFX power supplies are used in small builds, modularity is important thing for cable management and space organisation in small cases and this Corsairs power supply is fully modular with sleeved cables. And great thing is that it comes with ATX bracket so if you change your case you won’t need to change power supply.

Corsair SF600

Lian Li TU-150WX is small case with great possibilities. It comes in at 312mm height, 375mm depth, and 203mm width with tempered glass side window. TU-150 supports Mini-ITX and DTX motherboards and SFX power supplies. CPU cooler maximum height is 165mm and GPU shouldn’t be longer than 320mm. There is space for three 120mm fans, dual 2.5″ drives or one 2.5″ and one 3.5″ drive. In the rear there is a space for 120mm radiator which can be mounted in front too. For connectivity, there are two USB 3.2 ports on the front, USB C port and audio jacks. On the top of the case is a handle for easy caring PC with you.
